Chief Minister Narendra Modi will on Saturday dedicate development projects worth Rs 419 crore to Rajkot as part of the state-level Independence Day celebration here.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner D M Brahmbhatt said Rajkot district has been allotted projects totalling Rs 682 crore, of which Rs 473 crore is for the development of Rajkot city by RMC.
As many as 12 ministers and host of secretaries will be present in Rajkot on August 14 and 15, he said. A mega cultural function will be held at the Race Course Ground on the eve of Independence Day. The city is also hosting a three-day book fair at the Indoor Stadium from August 13.
Mayor Sandhya Vyas said on Friday that the Chief Minister will arrive on Saturday to preside over a series of functions, which will begin with a dedication of the Housing Scheme of Urban Poor on the 150 feet Ring Road. The total cost of the project is to the tune of Rs 156 crore.
This will be followed by the foundation laying ceremony of the Express Feeder Line, a part of the water supply project, at a total cost of Rs 30 crore. Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the sewage treatment plant at Madhapar. The Rs 145 crore project is the first of its kind to be developed on the built-operate-transfer basis and Public Private Partnership, with RMC not having to spend any money.
The CM will also inaugurate the 78 crore underground drainage project and the Rs 10 crore open zoo set up in the natural environment in Pradhyuman Park, he added.

These WORKS will have to be DONE for OUR WELFARE and WELBEING;because WE have BODY-BRAIN-INTELLECT-MIND etc ie OURSELF and that WE were LIVING in WORLD or UNIVERSE..!!
But if WE-HUMANS in general and WE-INDIANS in particular would TAKE MORE THAN WE NEEDED TO LIVE with OUR NEAR and DEAR,which WE were DOING IT anyway;therefore these PROJECTS would have ABSOLUTELY-NO-MEANING..!!
Like GANDHIJI had said that there was ENOUGH in the WORLD or UNIVERSE to SATISFY ALL-HUMANS,ALL-BEINGS’and ALL-THINGS’ NEED,but there was NOT-ENOUGH in the WORLD or UNIVERSE to SATISFY OUR GREED..!!
Anyway,WE-HUMANS in general and WE-INDIANS in particular were not only LIKE INSECTS,BIRDS,BEASTS,BRUTES or ANIMALS; but also WE were even LOWER than THEM..!!
That is,in short WE-HUMANS in general and WE-INDIANS in particular DON’T CARE FOR ANYTHING-ELSE or ANYBODY-ELSE;EXCEPT FOR ONLY OURSELF or ME or MINE..!!
Think about that for a moment..!!
