Narendra Modi my best friend, says Goa CM

Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat has termed his Gujarat counterpart and firebrand BJP leader Narendra Modi as his “best friend” which has not gone down well with his colleagues in the Congress party.

During a press briefing, Kamat said Modi was his “best friend” and added that he would visit Gujarat if the state government invites him.

“When I am in Delhi for any conference, I have Sheila Dikshit on one side and Narendra Modi on the other. He is my best friend,” Kamat, who was earlier in the BJP, told media persons on Thursday.

Kamat’s remarks did not go down well with state party leaders who said it is for the party high command to act on the matter.

“You have to ask him (Kamat) why he said so. It is for the party high command to act and seek his clarification,” Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Subhash Shirodkar said.

He refused to further comment on the issue.

Its good some congress people understand that Mr. Narendra Modi is a gem of a politician. I appreciate Mr. Kamat for this. But very soon Congress party will start avoiding Mr. Kamat and even meeting or inviting him in official functions.
