Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said Manmohan Singh can be called a ‘strong’ Prime Minister only if he hangs Afzal Guru.
“The Supreme Court has awarded death sentence to Afzal Guru for the attack on Parliament. If you have the guts to hang him, then only it will be proved that you are a ‘strong’ Prime Minister,” he said while addressing an election rally in New Naroda area here on Sunday night.
“One does not become a strong Prime Minister by adopting an aggressive posture only in press conferences,” Modi said.
Referring to the July 26 blasts in Ahmedabad, Modi said: “We have arrested those connected with it and have put them behind bars.”
“Atankvad se ladne ke liye chati chaheye (You need courage to deal with terrorism),” he said.
Modi also flayed the government for seeking United States’ intervention in the recent Mumbai terror strikes, even when Pakistan accepted that the attacks were planned from its soil.
“Instead of going to the US, if they had attacked Pakistan, the matter would have been solved in a day,” Modi said.

Dear Mr Narendra Modi,
As a man who knows development there is no chance for others to beat u. Being in Gujrat, its visible to me along with others. Not sure if Delhi govt cant see it. Still Gujrat needs u more.
Just wanted to say one simple thing regarding ur campaign, it feels very sad when u dont reply to trolls for Godhra issue. Sir, just need to ask Congress one simple thing. Why arent they talking about What happened in 1984 in Delhi , nearly 2900+ sikhs were killed in 3 dayz. And Govt was not reacting to it at all, infact congress govt was supporting the killings. Kamalnath , who was involved into it , is in the ministry too. Its sad for India.
Please do raise this question.
Yes Mr Modi, Afzal Guru needs to be hanged. But it won’t happen before elections get over. Congress just cannot afford to do it at this juncture. In fact they will not even talk about this issue in public as it might touch an emotional cord in both the communities.
Also, if I may, BJP has also not played it’s cards right on this issue at least. This matter should never have been allowed to die down. This question should have been raised in Parliament, media and everywhere else so that Congress would’ve been forced to make a statement on this isssue. I’m sorry to say this but winning an election needs to be a continuous process. The pressure on the opposition needs to be so high that they eventually give in.

Recently I read about your SRP comment and also read that Congress has hit back with MAR comment. But you should answer their new propoganda by changing MAR to ARM and definitely you BJP has the ARMour to snap Congress out of political business.
