Taiwan-based China Steel Corporation (CSC) today signed an agreement with Gujarat Government in presence of Chief Minister Narendra Modi to set up an Electrical Steel Plant on a 145-acre plot at Dahej GIDC Estate at a cost of Rs.6,000-crore. The construction on phase-1 of the project is scheduled to begin in June 2012 and manufacturing to start in 2014.
Taiwan’s Ambasssador ONG Wen-Chyi was present during the signing ceremony. The agreement was signed by CSC Chairman J. D. Lin and Gujarat Government’s iNDEXTb Managing Director Mukesh Kumar.
Others present on the occasion included Gujarat’s Principal Secretary (Industries) M. Sahu, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary K. Kailashnathan and Industries Commissioner B.B. Swain.
