Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said it was imperative to strike a balance in developmental process to save the environment.

"The responsibility to balance development process has increased. The stakeholders have to be extra careful for preserving the environment. Preserving nature and environment should be the vision and action for protecting all living beings on the earth, especially against global warming," Modi said in his message at the ongoing ‘Chemical Industry 2020-Vision and Action’ summit being held in Ankleshwar.

Excess excavation for extracting resources from land should be put to an end. Exploitation of soil in every respect should  be restricted, he said.

Modi also appreciated the efforts of Ankleshwar Industries Associaton, Ankleshwar Environmental Preservation Society (AEPS) which has organised the summit in collaboration with Industries Commissionerate of government of Gujarat.

Noted industries and eminent personalities from various parts of the country and abroad are taking part in the two-day national summit which is addressing issues related to pollution, environment, energy and related subjects.
