The fifth edition of biennial Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit ( VGGIS) in 2011 is set to become the biggest-ever event to showcase the state as global investment destination. As many as 80 countries and 12 Indian states have already confirmed their participation even as final touches are being given to the mega event to be organised on January 12 and 13 next year. On Monday, chief minister Narendra Modi met captains of industries in Gujarat.
Speaking to business leaders from different parts of Gujarat, he said that the road shows held by the Gujarat Government in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other places had evoked positive response from the trade and industry.
He said the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, to be organised at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, has now become an event of global importance and added that the rapid transformation of the state in providing world class infrastructure has lent further credence to Gujarat’s ability to lead the country’s industrial progress.
Modi said the government had undertaken schemes to give facelift to 50 urban places in the state by providing better civic facilities. He also outlined the state’s new solar energy and the seaside water desalination policy.
